Veteran of the Year Award at Armed Forces Day 2011
Armed Forces Day took place in Edinburgh on 25th June 2011. The event raises awareness of the contribution made to the U.K. by those who currently and formerly served in its armed forces, and also gives an opportunity for the public to show its support for the men and women of the Armed Forces community. As part of the event, an award was made for Veteran of the Year. The recipient in 2011 was Mr. Ron Mason. The award, a crystal plaque, was supplied and engraved by Uppermost.

About Armed Forces Day
Armed Forces Day took place in 2011 in Edinburgh on 25th June. It was an opportunity to do two things. Firstly, to raise public awareness of the contribution made to our country by those who serve and have served in Her Majesty's Armed Forces, Secondly, it gives the nation an opportunity to Show Your Support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families and from veterans to cadets.
